Meet Gordon L Fletcher, Au.D., ABA

A native of Marlboro County South Carolina, Dr. Fletcher has practiced audiology at this location for more than 30 years. His has clinical experience from working both in private medical/ENT and major medical center settings. He provides diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing aid services, rehabilitation treatment plans, and counseling for both adult and pediatric patients. He is committed to verification of hearing aid settings and to audiology “Best Practice” protocols.

Dr. Fletcher received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Audiology degrees from the University of South Carolina. He completed a post graduate residency at Duke University Medical Center and received his Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. He has served on the board of directors of the North Carolina Speech Hearing and Language Association and is a past president of the Audiological Resource Association. He has also served on executive council boards of the American Academy of Audiology-North Carolina Chapter, and the advisory board of the Audiology Foundation of America as well as other professional and hearing industry organizations.

A research article co-authored by Dr. Fletcher, “A Computerized Scoring Procedure for Auditory Brainstem Response Audiometry”, has been published in the Ear and Hearing journal. This work has been presented at professional conferences and continues to be cited in hearing journals and textbooks. He continues to speak and present programs at professional conferences.

Dr. Fletcher is the recipient of numerous Scholar Awards from the American Academy of Audiology. He has also earned ACE awards (for continuing education) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He was honored as Audiologist of the Year in 1995 by the Audiological Resource Association and has been voted Best Audiologist in the Catawba Valley on numerous occasions.

Dr. Fletcher maintains staff appointments at both Frye Regional Medical Center and Catawba Valley Medical Center.
